My name is Tanya Cummings and I am the 1996 graduate of Gage Public School.  I attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education.  After graduation, I began teaching Character First Education and was a long term substitute for first grade at Washington Elementary School in the Alva.  In the fall of 2001, I began teaching in my hometown. In 2009, I earned my Master’s Degree in Library Media from East Central University in Ada. While at Gage, I held several teaching positions.  I taught special education, third and fourth grades, and was the library media specialist.  I began teaching at Shattuck in 2010.  I taught 5^th grade my first year and later became the Title I reading teacher and interventionist. I currently work with students in grades KG-8.

I am certified in Elementary Education, Special Education, High School English, and Library Media.

I have attended various professional developments.  Some of these include Great Expectations, LETRS Training, OTA/ Encyclomedia Conference, Engage Oklahoma, Edmentum (Study Island, Exact Path, Reading Eggs, Education City) Training, Renisaunce Place Trainings, and attended a Google Summitt.
