Camp Quarantine
By: Teagan Charmasson
The outbreak of Coronavirus has left people with no choice but to cancel all events of this year. But this virus did not stop the FFA. The Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp session one took place on the 26th of July. The Shattuck FFA chapter were fortunate enough to obtain eleven tickets to send FFA members to the two day, one night stay at the camp. At Alumni Camp, there were several precautions taken including having the camp at quarter capacity, requiring masks in all buildings, and having campers social distance from one another. These precautions, however, did not stop the fun! Activities such as small group sessions and a kickball tournament made this camp a hit. FFA members from across the state were so grateful to the FFA Staff that made the camp possible. Despite the restrictions and shortened dates, COVID-19 couldn’t keep campers from the most important aspects of this coveted summer event; learning leadership skills and meeting new friends.
