Fifty-three Shattuck Elementary students who met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals from November through February were rewarded with a trip to Oklahoma City on March 4 to watch the OKC Blue take on the South Bay Lakers.
The students earned the trip through their hard work and dedication to reading. For many, it was an exciting opportunity to attend a live basketball game and cheer on the OKC Blue.
Although the Blue came up short against the South Bay Lakers, they made a strong push toward the end of the game and never gave up, keeping fans on their feet.
The trip served as a fun reward for the students’ efforts and a reminder that hard work in the classroom can lead to special experiences outside of school. Shattuck Elementary is proud of these students for reaching their reading goals.
